J. R. “Bob” Dobbs and the Church of the SubGenius

The United States is a unique country in many ways, not the least of which is the freedom to practice any religion you want.  Because of this, several wholly original faiths have sprung up through the years.  Some have gone on to become large and dangerous (Scientology), and others are a little smaller and more goofy (The Pastafarians).  Today we are going to discuss one such religion: “The Church of the SubGenius”.  This was co-founded by Re. Ivan Stang and Dr. Philo Drummond and has some of the most unique doctrine you will ever hear.  It centers around a man named J. R. “Bob” Dobbs, who is the greatest salesman of all time.  His goal is to help the members of the Church regain their slack from those that would take it away:  The Conspiracy of Normalcy.  What is Slack?  Who is in this conspiracy?  Where is “Bob”?  Rev.
