Ep. 194: A Conversation About Ghosts

Did you know that 41% of the population believes in ghosts? That is two in five.  Is there really something to this phenomenon, or is this something that is explainable with modern science?  That is one of the questions that Marc Hartzman tries to answer in his new book “Chasing Ghosts“.  We discuss quite a few historic cases, including The Bell Witch, which was a ghost story that ends in murder, and The Greenbriar Ghost, which is the first time in U.S. History that testimony given by a ghost was admitted as evidence in a court of law.  We even get into some of the technology used to detect ghosts, including Thomas Edison’s “Spirit Box”,and the brilliantly named “Psychic Howler”, both of which were to operate like a telephone to the afterlife.
